Tues musings...

Hello faithful readers...

Not much happening as of late, but I wanted to set a few thoughts down...

Airfare is no longer cheap. What the hell gives?! I got way to used to the "can potentially fly anywhere for about $200" airfares. I'm looking at three possible flights in the next 60 days [Denver, Dallas, & SanFran/Oak] and the cheapest MAY be $300, ridiculous.

College hoops - keep an eye on Drexel. They've finished 4th in the preseason NIT over the holiday weekend, losing to Duke & UCLA on back to back games by only like 10 points combined. You may say no big deal, but those are the kinds of games that will ready that team for the postseason real deal come March.

Fantasy Football - TGIHLT - which stands for Thank God I Have LaDanian Tomlinson!

Its not even Dec. 1st and I'm beginning to hate the Xmas season. Buy, buy, buy! Hate it, Hate it, HATE IT!

Cubicle etiquette - why is it that a group of women can have a 20 minute open air, for all to hear, BS session about the benefits of specific hair waxes that straighten your hair, but I can't bring up the need to scratch my balls! [Hypothetically, speaking of course, what I really needed was to scratch my ass :P ]

Radio stations & newspapers - I'm a fan of both, but they [like over the air TV] seem intent on driving me away with either childish, insulting, or unintelligent [or all 3] content. I liked the Festivus parade one station put on on Black Friday complete with the dominatrix beating up the traffic guy while they were IN traffic, it sounded great, but it seemed like a [duh] VISUAL gag!

As for newspapers, I try to read two a day [Philly Inquirer & Philly Daily News] but here in Philly apparently they are slashing staff as the owner [Knight Ridder] tries to find a buyer and get out of the newspaper business. Which means some of the smartest and best local writers and columnists are now out of work. I'm sure some of them can [or will] have web content, or will land a gig somewhere else, but I Liked finding them in my paper!

I know, I know, this makes me a dinosaur. I can't wait to explain to grandkids someday that my news wasn't always downloaded directly into my brain by my XBOX-AOL-ABC-ESPN-XM-(brought to you by Budweiser!) digital chip implant! That I had to actually [gasp] leave the house to obtain PAPER news will seem ridiculous.

Just makes one wonder I suppose, well enough ranting from me, cyas!
