Old San Juan Tale
uh man - long story of Fri night...
we all decide to hit this club Rumba in Old SJ
so we split up into four groups of six...grab cabs as people were ready to leave and off we went...
I had Tonia [DVAC] & her bf Jim, Steve [NY], Jeremy & Becky, and me
we tell the cabbie - club Rumba, he goes ok, off we go.. into old San Juan, we end up at the cruise ship piers and WA LA, he drops us off at a pier, we get out [we have no idea where this place really is] and sure enough, theres a party boat there named RUMBA, its a party cruise boat, but, ahem, NONE of our frat gang is there - mass cell phone chaos ensues...
So we now are walking alongthe pier district and people are all out and about, some drinking, just kind of enjoying the night - hot & sticky, but we had to go find another cab to try to find the right club - so we end up walking thru the neighborhood a bit, and we stumble upon this festival block - this road [not much bigger than an alley] is jammed with people cause the different restaurants/bars on this street are all serving outdoors, one bar's got music, another a live 20pc band, the next has dancing girls, you catch my drift, fun shit [check out the Heineken Dancing Girls shot], but we were out to find our friends, so we pressed on...

We get thru this party block, and sure enough plenty of cabs on the far side, and by now we're told by Odie or Suzanne - that Rumba is on Plaza del Mercado - so we tell the cab driver that we want Rumba at Plaza del Mercado - well we end up at Plaza Del Mercado alright, but its this huge open air party block again plenty of drinking, dancing, etc., but no club Rumba!
Thats where we said "Fxxx it" and started drinking on our own at that plaza.
So u never made it to rumba? [you ask?]
Nope, we had one drink in that plaza, and then get this, some places started to close at 11PM?! We said screw it and went back to the hotel and drank and gambled there
Moral of the story - getting lost via cabbie can be fun, it usually isn't [in fact, I was NOT happy that night] but looking back, hell it made a fun tale, and plus, I mean, come on... HEINEKEN GIRLS!
