Now, I just need to hang shit on the walls - get the new lamp & ceiling fan fixture installed [Oh Jim...] - get a nightstand - bah furnishings - and migrate more clothes into the reclaimed closet space, sigh, tough to do during tax season.
Its also tough to do when fun wknds interrupt :)
Let's see - last Friday, was an Ayana & I wknd, went with Ayana to the Wings Coaches Happy Hour at McFaddens in the Phillies Stadium. Very nice set up, I see why that place is popular. Of course, had to blow off the Phantoms game we had tickets too, then again, work made me way late for that game anyways, still I hate missing free hockey... :(
BUT, the coaches were cool. As you signed in [season ticket holder thing] they had you fill out slips for questions that would be asked of the coaches - it was kind of a press conference, but for fans to ask, no reporters sadly.
And MY question was asked first! Too sweet! I asked about Jon Christmas = MY WINGS Rookie FAVE! UVA Grad! Anyways, fastest man I've ever seen on turf. Now if he can just see more game time!

Anyways, coach said he's still trying to "learn the indoor game". Ugh, its still run with ball and stick, shoot with stick, put ball into net! Oh, and avoid all the defenders! Crazy, but hey it works. I hope to be writing to you all of his exploits for many years to come. There were like 30-35 fans there. Was a good time, trading road trip war stories with some before the coach arrived.
Ah, nice. nice too in that got to watch hoops when it was over. Then home, then bed, then RIGHT back to sports complex for Sat matinee Wings Game, ugh I hate day games, Wings played like they hadn't woken up yet either - Lost to Arizona!
Went to dinner, went to see V for Vendetta [reference my earlier post!]
Crashed, got up Sunday, went to late brunch, went to do a little shopping for Dad's 60th b-day present, since the bday dinner was that night [nothing like tax season procrastination] only to have shopping interrupted by my cell phone! Holy Shit! The Spencer's are up from North Carolina! And they've got three hours to kill before their plane leaves Philly! Well OF COURSE I have TIME to see them, get to my house!
Rush home from shopping! [Minor rant about the store clerk - he HEARD my cell phone conversation [its a small store], KNEW we were now, IN A HURRY to get home, and YET he took forever to ring me up with small talk! I'm like, here's my card, bag it, lets go lets go lets go! SHEESH! End Rant!]
Meet up with Spencers! Lil Mitchell so big now, a walking talking machine since I last saw them on the Great Convention Roadtrip. Was just able to fit there afternoon visit in between shopping and when the bday dinner was supposed to start.
Say tearful g-bye to them, jet down to my sister's for dinner with the fam! Dad loved his new shirt collection! Watch some more hoops! Go GMU!
Couldnt sleep Monday night - spent like an hour researching/checking out this summer's World Cup of Lacrosse info - its in London, Ontario, Canada in mid July - I sense another road trip - 20+ Int'l teams! 1998's WC only had like 14! Grow sport grow!
Now its back to the midweek grind :(
Just got asked to speak at AL formal on April 22nd - hmm, dust off the Brotherhood speech or write something new? Gee, that'll distract me at work at least half a day or more - think creative happy thoughts!
